DISCOVERY CHANNEL Casting NEW HOST!!!

The Discovery Channel is looking for talented hosts (Men, women, actors, hosts, comedians!) to star in its next, long running hit series. We are searching for charismatic individuals à la Mike Rowe "Dirty Jobs" or the team from "Mythbusters". We don't, however, want CLONES of those hosts. The most important elements of our search are that:

The talent MUST feel authentic and relatable to middle America – should be the type of fun and engaging host that you want to be friends with!

The talent MUST be able to host a show that is visceral, challenging and exciting. They have to be willing to try anything!

It will be an amazing opportunity for the right host, so please contact us ASAP with contact info, brief bio, picture and the reason why you are Discovery Network's next star! Also send a video link of your hosting, acting, and/or comedic talent. Good luck! E-mail us at: DiscoveryCasting@gmail.com.

Thursday, Oct 4 - 5-9 pm
WHAT: "Henry" is an Emerson College B.F.A. thesis film directed by JD
Marlow. It is a dramatic character piece about a divorced father who
is forced to choose between his personal ambitions and his estranged
son. We are seeking UNION and NON-UNION actors for a variety of roles.
All actors will receive transportation, food, and a DVD copy of the
finished film. Some main roles will receive monetary compensation as
well.
SHOOTING DATES: Two weekends, Nov. 2-4 & 9-12, 2007.

If you are interested in auditioning, please RSVP to casting director
Julian Higgins at henrycasting@gmail.com and let us know what day
you'd like to audition and which part you're interested in (see
below). Enclose a headshot and résumé if you have them. For the
audition itself, you will need to prepare a short monologue (≈2 mins)
and bring hard copies of your headshot and résumé.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

HENRY FELD (Male, Caucasian, 50s-60s)
The product of a repressive violinist father, insurance agent Henry
Feld has spent his life seeking personal validation as a musician.
After a devastating divorce, Henry got involved in a jazz group, but
now he has staked everything on a solo album that has become the
object of his aging musical passion. Ideally, this actor should read
music and have some piano ability.

DAVID FELD (Male, Caucasian, late 20s/early 30s)
Henry's son, an ambitious young professional. He has just received a
promotion and is preparing to leave the country for his new post.
David has not spoken to his father since his parents' divorce.
Bitterly resentful of his father after his parents' divorce, David is
not planning to speak to Henry before his departure…

REGINA MURPHY (Female, Caucasian, 50s-60s)
Henry's sister is a successful full-time musician, a wife, and a
mother. Regina has always supported Henry's musical interests, but she
is the true success story in the family. In fact, she has just made it
big with an album herself.

MUSIC EXECUTIVE (Any gender, ANY ETHINICITY, 30s-50s)
The executive producer for music at MusicMedia Enterprises. A
vigorous, approachable person always on the lookout for the newest
talent. Very good at his business, and very discerning about music and
musicians. A very important character in the film.

PETER BROCKTON (Male, ANY ETHNICITY, 40s-50s)
A successful guitarist and leader of the Brockton Jazz Quartet, for
which Henry plays the piano. A friend of the Music Executive, Peter
hopes that connection will lead to an album for the group. No musical
experience is necessary, but if you have it, great!

TWO BAND MEMBERS (Any gender, ANY ETHNICITY, 30s-60s)
The drummer and bassist of the Brockton Jazz Quartet are not large
dialogue roles, but it's very important that they have presence and
charisma. No musical experience is necessary, but if you have it,
great!

YOUNG HENRY (Male, Caucasian, age 8-12)
Young Henry has an unfettered passion for music, but his efforts to
even play the piano at home is restricted. His dreams of being a
concert pianist are trampled on by his own father. Some piano
experience would help a great deal, but is not necessary.

HENRY'S FATHER (Male, Caucasian, 40s-50s)
A violinist and composer, Henry's father has very high standards.
Deemed a musical genius, he has long since decided that his son does
not have the natural talent to succeed in the musical world, and
prevents him from playing at all. We would prefer an actor originally
from Europe or a former Soviet-bloc country for this role.
